CADAVERIC FITBONE COURSE AND HINDFOOT NAILING COURSE

This cadaveric course consists of two components.

The first course is an instructional course on the use of the Fitbone implant for limb lengthening. The Fitbone is an amazing feat of engineering with many attractive features, including impressive reamers and good osteogenesis. However, many surgeons are apprehensive about the implantation of the charging cable for the Fitbone, and this may discourage them from using it. This course aims to provide the opportunity to perform the procedure on a cadaver and experience the implantation of the cable and the receiver. The faculty will be able to guide you and allow you to learn from their experiences and complications.

An essential tool for salvage of ankle and subtalar arthritis, and for managing unreconstructable pilon fractures and ankle fractures, the hindfoot nail is now a commonly used implant. There are many implants on the market, but we have found this particular implant has a lot of surgeon-friendly features

This course will help you to familiarise yourself with this useful nail and implant it on a cadaver in a low pressure setting.

This course will be useful for consultants and senior trainees who would like to perform this procedure, and learn from the wide experience of the faculty, who have different strategies in the use of this nail.

The jigs for hindfoot nails can appear intimidating, but we can guide you in its use, to give you confidence in performing this procedure.

This course is £300 for the whole day. Please click on the button below to book your place.
