Basic Monolateral External Fixation Course
The first Orthocycle Basics of Emergency External Fixation Course was held in March 2012. The course is now being held at the Manchester Metropolitan University.
This course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to safely apply a monolateral fixator to an open tibial shaft fracture, a pilon fracture, a pelvic fracture or an unstable joint. The course is delivered through lectures, demonstrations, workshops and discussions. The course is kindly supported by Stryker, who manufacture the Hoffman 3 monolateral system we use. The course is attended by surgical trainees and there are also observers who are theatre nurses or students.
Previous participants have given the course very positive feedback, and felt confident and competent with monolateral fixators afterwards.
The next course will be run on Saturday September 2nd 2023.
